Karl Fairburne with the PPSh-41.

A PPSh-41.

The PPSh-41 is a Russian submachine gun featured in Sniper Elite V2. It was first developed in 1941 in response to a need for a submachine gun that could be easily mass-produced. It is typically chambered in 7.62 Tokarev, and was used in large numbers by the Russians and some German soldiers during the Second World War. It was also supplied to many Communist countries during the Cold War. It has a very high rate of fire, but low accuracy and high recoil.

In the campaign, this weapon is a great method of supplying suppressing fire to avoid getting shot.  If a hostile recieves even one shot, they will flinch and freeze for a few seconds before pursuing you or returning fire.  In such a situation, such as when in a CQB environment, this weapon can be devastating as it can allow the player to eliminate many enemies at once.  However, this weapon suffers from terrible range.  If a shooter desires to use this to kill individuals, burst-fire is suggested to conserve ammunition and maximize accuracy.
