"They'd left me a Gewehr 43. ZF 4 telescopic sight, four times magnification. Nice."

- Karl Fairburne picking up a Gewehr 43 in Berlin.

Gewehr 43 was a German semi-automatic rifle originally intended to be used during WW2, made to counter the Russian Tokarev rifles. It is one of the staple rifles of the series and is present in all Sniper Elite games and its Zombie Army spin-offs. The Gewehr 43 is the first rifle given to the player in the Sniper Elite series.

In Sniper Elite 3: Afrika, the Gewehr 43 is the standard rifle used by the Afrikakorps troops Karl has contact with during his quest for Project Seuche.

Sniper Elite[]

The Gewehr 43 is the first sniper rifle the player is issued in the game and is seen in the hands of German soldiers. Its presentation is inaccurate, though, as it is modeled with a Karabiner 98k bolt and the magazine incorrectly holds 5 rounds instead of the historical ten.

Sniper Elite V2[]

"This German rifle has the highest rate of fire available. Its semi-automatic action is complimented by having the highest zoom level, though a low muzzle velocity means wind and gravity effects are amplified."

Gewehr 43 rifles are often used by German Infantry and Elites, with the scoped versions being used by Snipers. The Gewehr 43 is available for use in St. Olibartus Church, where an Allied plane unintentionally drops a box containing it at the top of the church to help Karl Fairburne in his mission. The Gewehr 43 is the only semi-auto rifle that can be aquired without DLC.

The Gew 43 has a high rate of fire and good scope zooming, with its only downside being the low muzzle velocity. The magazine incorrectly holds only 7 rounds instead of the 10 in the real world.

Zombie Army Trilogy[]

The G43 behaves the same as in Sniper Elite V2. It can also be seen used by Zombie Snipers.

Sniper Elite 3[]

Gewehr 43[]

"An improved semi automatic infantry rifle with low recoil."

The Gewehr 43 can be unlocked by ranking up. The Gewehr 43 appears used by the German Afrika Korps.

Sniper Elite 4[]

"The semi-automatic Gewehr 43 was developed as an Infantry rifle by Germany in WWII, as a response to the Russian SVT and improvement on the earlier G41 designs. Dedicated marksman and sniper versions were fitted with the ZF 4 telescopic sight."

The Gewehr 43 can be unlocked at any level for 5 tokens: it is a good weapon due to its large magazine and semi-auto fire mode. The G43 is first used by German Infantry in Regilino Viaduct. Scoped version are used by Jagers and Snipers.
